We are seeking a dynamic and analytical professional to join our data analytics-driven software solutions company as a Business Analyst (BA). This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our business objectives and technical execution. The ideal candidate will leverage data insights to drive product innovation, manage the entire product backlog lifecycle, and lead a dedicated Scrum team to deliver high-impact software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of agile methodologies, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data findings into actionable product requirements.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as IT, Computer Science, Data Science Statistics, and IT Management. Master Degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2- years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar role within a software development industry.
- Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, ideally as a certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or Professional Business Analyst.
- Experience working specifically within a data analytics, AI, or data product company is highly desirable.
Job Description
- Requirement Identification & Use Case Exploration: Proactively explore and analyze complex datasets to identify potential business opportunities, new use cases, and unmet user needs. Utilize data analytics tools and methodologies to drive evidence-based requirement discovery.
- Data Analysis : Define detailed data requirements, create data flow diagrams, specify source-to-target mappings, and collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists on logical data modeling (dimensional or relational) to support analytics initiatives requirements.
- Detailed Requirement Analysis & Documentation: Conduct thorough stakeholder interviews and workshops. Translate high-level business needs into clear, concise, and detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Product Ownership & Scrum Management: Act as the primary Product Owner for a cross-functional Scrum team. Define, prioritize, and manage the team’s backlog. Lead Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, review, and retrospectives. Ensure alignment between the development team's output and the strategic product roadmap.
- Backlog Management & Prioritization: Maintain a healthy, refined, and prioritized Sprint backlog. Ensure transparency and understanding of backlog items across the team and stakeholders. Continuously groom the backlog to ensure items are ‘Ready’ for development sprints.
- Research and domain understanding: Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research in each business domain to discover business use cases, data availability and maintenance. Qualitative research encompasses exploring government regulation and directives, identifying macroeconomic trends from news, conducting in person interviews and catch-up sessions, studying related theories and journals etc. Furthermore, quantitative research encompasses exploratory data analysis on sample data, creating data and business logics to integrate in product modules, etc.
- Stakeholder Communication & Alignment: Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders, data science teams, and the engineering team. Ensure all parties have a shared understanding of product vision, requirements, and progress.
- Solution Validation & UAT Support: Collaborate with QA teams to define test strategies. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and validate that delivered solutions meet the original business objectives and quality standards.
Required Skills
