The backend developer is required to design, develop, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications and services. The Backend Developer will take ownership of backend projects, database architecture, APIs, integrations, and server-side infrastructure while ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of professional experience as a Backend Developer, PHP Developer, or Laravel Developer.
• Proven hands-on experience in PHP and Laravel development.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party APIs/services

• Take ownership of existing projects and lead the enhancement, optimization, and maintenance of database schemas and backend infrastructure.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Scale and optimize backend runtime infrastructure while collaborating closely with the development team to ensure seamless system integration.
• Design, build, and maintain robust RESTful APIs, ensuring proper API versioning, comprehensive documentation, and clearly defined contracts with frontend and mobile application teams.
• Develop and optimize database structures using MySQL and Laravel Eloquent ORM, ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and scalability.
• Implement caching and performance optimization mechanisms using technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Integrate and manage third-party APIs and external services to extend product functionality.
• Implement appropriate security measures to protect systems, applications, and data from vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
• Work with message queues and event-driven architectures using technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS, or Laravel Queue.
• Oversee the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including development, code review, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, design patterns, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Lead technical discussions and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Work with Project Managers to prioritize tasks, estimate project timelines, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, system architecture, performance, and engineering practices.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities while identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency in software development.

Required Skills

• Experience working in high-traffic or large-scale applications.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, and CloudWatch.
• Understanding of application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
• Experience in fintech, digital payments, e-commerce, or other transaction-intensive environments would be an advantage.
