This role is required to support the growing volume of digitization work as our team takes on multiple  projects. A large number of locations, boundaries, and assets need to be mapped and geo-referenced, and a dedicated intern ensures this foundational work, including the basemap refresh, gets done accurately and on time.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong interest in GIS, surveying, mapping and geomatics field.
• Freshers are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

• Digitize locations, boundaries, and assets accurately using GIS software to support ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Refresh and update the existing basemap to improve overall map accuracy and quality.
• Perform QA/QC checks on digitized and geo-referenced data to ensure accuracy and consistency before final use.
• Maintain and organize spatial data layers, ensuring proper attribute tagging and metadata documentation.
• Support senior GIS staff with data preparation for spatial analysis, project planning, and reporting.
• Coordinate with project teams to understand data requirements and ensure timely delivery of digitized maps.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS / QGIS
• Experience with digitization and geo-referencing of spatial data
• Working knowledge of shapefiles, KML, and other common GIS data formats
• Basic understanding of coordinate systems and map projections
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
• Ability to work independently on repetitive, detail-oriented tasks
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools/processes
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members.
